Background

LANZA International Limited was formed in New Zealand in 2002 principally to import silver, especially jewellery, from Mexico to New Zealand.

During several visits each year between Mexico and New Zealand the LANZA directors, Murray Bindon and Yolanda Estrada, observed the growing interest in Mexico toward New Zealand and New Zealand grown products.

New Zealand is a country of great beauty, blessed with abundant natural resources. Virtually any food product can be grown in New Zealand because of its temperate climate and fertile soils. The differing soils in a number of areas of the country also produce grape varieties from which are made some of the finest wines in the world. This is particularly true of the east coast of the North Island for Chardonnay and Bordeaux type red wines; the Marlborough area in the north of the South Island particularly for Sauvignon Blanc wines; and the Central Otago area of the lower South Island particularly for Pinot Noir wines. Those particular wines are not limited to the areas mentioned. Many locations in New Zealand have areas where the climate and soil type is suitable to a particular grape variety.

New Zealand wines, particularly Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, consistently win gold medals at wine exhibitions around the world.

New Zealand and Mexico Offices

LANZA's New Zealand office is located in central Hamilton, the heart of the Waikato region and the most productive dairy land in the world.

The Mexican company, Productos de Nueva Zelanda S.A. de C.V., which trades in Mexico under the name LANZA Internacional, has its office located in the Polanco area of Mexico City immediately across the road from the New Zealand Embassy and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise offices. The Mexico company as also wholly owned by Murray Bindon and Yolanda Estrada.

LANZA is the only company with offices in both New Zealand and Mexico which is focussed entirely on trade between those two countries.

Our Products

LANZA holds agencies for a variety of product suppliers within New Zealand, including wines, cheeses, dairy products, avocado oil, olive oil, fruit jams and toppings. Other products will be added to the portfolio from time to time. The company is also associated with New Zealand based suppliers of other products such as meats and seafoods.

Although Mexico is not a new market for New Zealand products, the trade between the companies in the past has largely been limited to dairy and meat products.
